Week 6 (18/08/2025 to 22/0825)

During the sixth week of my teaching practice, Itook two classes-one in 8B (Physics) and another in 9D (Chemistry). This week helped me enhance my classroom management skill's and improve my confidence in handling different subjects and age groups.

In the Physics class (8B),l focused on engaging students through simple experiments and real-life examples. Students actively participated and showed curiosity, which made the class lively and effective. In the Chemistry class (9D), lemphasized concept clarity and used visual aids to simplify abstract ideas. The students responded positively and were able to relate the lesson to their previous knowledge.

Overall, the week was productive and insightful. I learned the importance S adapting my teaching strategies to suit different classes and subjects. Continuous reflection on my teaching methods helped me identify areas for improvement--particularly in time management and student evaluation.

Weekly Self-Reflection Week 5 (11/08/2025 – 16/08/2025

 Week 5 Self-Reflection (11/08/2025 – 16/08/2025)

This week of my teaching practice was both productive and meaningful as I engaged in diverse academic and co-curricular activities. I handled a total of six classes, with 1 chemistry lessons in Standard 9D and 5 physics lessons in Standard 8B. The classes were planned with clear objectives and included interactive questioning, discussions, and demonstrations to ensure conceptual clarity. I observed good student participation, which motivated me to use more activity-oriented strategies.

In addition to regular classes, we conducted a school-based activity on the topic Health and Hygiene for Standard 9 students. This session helped in raising awareness about healthy practices, personal cleanliness, and lifestyle habits, while also encouraging students to adopt these in their daily lives. Furthermore, I successfully completed a practicum on the Role of PTA in VPM HSS Vellarada. Through teacher responses and analysis, I could understand the effectiveness of the PTA in school development and areas that require improvement.

And I participated in the schools noon meal scheme.Served for for the students.

Overall, this week enhanced my confidence in classroom management, broadened my skills in activity planning, and provided valuable experience in conducting practical research in the school setting.

Weekly Self-Reflection – Week 4 (4/8/25 to 8/8/25)

Weekly Self-Reflection – Week 4 (4/8/25 to 8/8/25)

During the fourth week of my B.Ed. teaching practice, I had a fulfilling and engaging experience both inside and outside the classroom. I conducted a total of seven classes—five chemistry lessons for class 9D and two physics classes for class 8B. In the chemistry sessions, I focused on building conceptual clarity, using a combination of visual aids, real-life examples, and student-led discussions to explain topics such as chemical reactions and the periodic table. I observed noticeable improvement in students’ engagement and understanding, particularly when incorporating group activities and question-and-answer sessions. In physics, my focus was on foundational concepts like force and motion, which I taught using hands-on demonstrations and interactive questioning techniques to make abstract ideas more relatable. I made sure to vary my teaching strategies depending on the learning pace and responsiveness of the students. One of the key learning points this week was the importance of flexibility in classroom management, especially when dealing with mixed-ability learners.

Beyond academics, I actively participated in co-curricular activities, which added significant value to my teaching practice. I was involved in organizing and participating in the school assembly conducted in remembrance of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day. This was a meaningful event where students were encouraged to reflect on the consequences of war and the value of peace. I also took the initiative to conduct competitions related to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, such as poster-making and speech contests, which saw enthusiastic participation from students. Then in this week the BEd trainees together conducted the memory test in std 8 B to check the memory power of children

Overall, Week 4 was a balanced mix of academic instruction and character-building activities. I am gradually becoming more confident in my classroom delivery, time management, and student interaction. The feedback from my mentor and the students has been encouraging, and I am continuously reflecting on and refining my approach. This week reinforced my belief in the power of experiential learning and the teacher's role in nurturing not just intellect but also empathy and social responsibililty.

Weekly reflection (28/07/25 – 02/08/25)

Self-Reflection for the Week (28/07/25 – 02/08/25

)

This week was busy and meaningful. I took five classes—three in 8B and two in 9D. The students were active and showed good interest in learning, which encouraged me to make my classes more fun and interactive. I also managed my time well and taught the main physics topics clearly.

Apart from teaching, I joined in some co-curricular activities like the noon feeding and the painting competition. Helping serve food gave me a chance to connect with students outside the classroom, which helped build a better relationship with them. The painting competition was a fun and creative event, and I enjoyed guiding the students.

Overall, handling both teaching and extra activities made my week special. It helped me understand how small actions can create a positive school environment. I want to continue this balance and find more ways to support my students in all areas.
