Weekly Reflection – Teaching Practice (Week 9)

26/01/26 to 29/01/26

This final week of teaching practice was a meaningful and fulfilling conclusion to my school internship experience. During this week, I handled two classes — one in Class 8B and one in Class 9D. Though the number of classes was limited, the learning gained was deep and valuable.

I observed that students were more comfortable with my teaching style compared to the initial weeks. Classroom interaction improved, and students showed better participation, confidence, and interest in learning. This reflected the positive rapport I had built with them over the weeks.

I was able to manage time more effectively, explain concepts clearly, and engage students through questioning and examples. The experience helped me understand the importance of patience, preparation, and adaptability in teaching.

As this was the final week of teaching practice, it gave me an opportunity to reflect on my growth as a teacher. I developed better classroom control, communication skills, and confidence in handling students of different learning levels.

Overall, this teaching practice period was highly enriching and helped me transform theoretical knowledge into real classroom experience. It strengthened my passion for the teaching profession and prepared me to become a more responsible and effective teacher in the future.

Weekly Teaching Practice Report – Week 8 ( 19/01/2026 to 23/01/2026)

During the eighth week of teaching practice, I handled two classes at the secondary level. I taught Unsaturated Hydrocarbons for Class 9D, where the focus was on understanding the types, properties, and basic reactions of unsaturated hydrocarbons. For Class 8B, I taught Characteristics of Magnetic Field Lines, explaining their nature, direction, and significance using suitable illustrations and classroom discussion.

In addition to classroom teaching, I actively participated in co-curricular activities. I assisted in the noon meal serving programme, contributing to the smooth conduct of the school’s welfare activity. I also took part in the Annual Day preparations, helping with organizational and supportive tasks. Also participated in the appreciation ceremony of winner in state level youth festival

Overall, the week was productive and helped me gain better teaching experience as well as involvement in school activities beyond academics.

Self-Reflection – Teaching Practice (Week 7)

 12/01/2026 to 16/01/2026

During the seventh week of my teaching practice, I handled three classes across two standards, which helped me further develop my pedagogical skills and classroom management abilities. I took two classes in Standard VIII Physics and one class in Standard IX Chemistry.

In Standard VIII Physics, I taught the topics Magnetic Levitation and Magnetic Compass. While teaching magnetic levitation, I used real-life examples and demonstrations to help students visualize the concept of magnetic repulsion and its applications. Students showed keen interest and actively participated by asking questions and sharing observations. The lesson on the magnetic compass helped students understand the Earth’s magnetic field and the practical use of a compass in navigation. Simple activities and questioning techniques enhanced their conceptual clarity and engagement.

In Standard IX Chemistry, I handled the topic Unsaturated Hydrocarbons. The lesson focused on alkenes and alkynes, their general formulae, properties, and differences from saturated hydrocarbons. I used charts and structural representations to make the topic more understandable. Students responded positively and were able to identify unsaturated hydrocarbons and their characteristics through guided discussion.

Apart from classroom teaching, I actively participated in various co-curricular activities. I assisted in the Noon Feeding Programme, which helped me understand the importance of nutrition and welfare schemes in promoting student health and attendance. I also took part in the Chief Minister’s Quiz, supporting the smooth conduct of the programme and encouraging student participation. Additionally, I contributed to the Annual Day preparations, which enhanced my teamwork, organizational skills, and sense of responsibility.

Overall, Week 7 was a meaningful and enriching experience. It strengthened my confidence in handling different subjects, improved my communication skills, and helped me understand the holistic role of a teacher beyond classroom instruction. I realized the importance of integrating academic teaching with co-curricular activities to ensure the all-round development of students.

Self-Reflection on Teaching Practice – Week 6(07/01/2026 to 08/01/2026)

Week 5 of my teaching practice, though short in duration, was a meaningful and insightful experience that contributed to my professional growth. During this period, I handled two classes of Standard VIII Physics, which helped me further develop my confidence in subject delivery and classroom interaction.

In the Physics classes, I focused on presenting concepts in a clear and simple manner, using appropriate examples to help students relate the content to real-life situations. I encouraged student participation through questioning and brief discussions, which helped in assessing their understanding and maintaining an active classroom environment. This experience strengthened my communication skills and improved my ability to manage time effectively within a limited period.

In addition to academic teaching, I actively observed and supported the co-curricular activity of medicine distribution against worm infestation. This activity made me realize the important role schools play in promoting students’ health and well-being. It also helped me understand how health awareness programs complement classroom learning by ensuring students’ physical fitness, which is essential for effective learning.

This week helped me reflect on the importance of balancing academic responsibilities with students’ health and welfare. I also recognized the need to further improve my use of teaching aids and to incorporate more interactive strategies in future classes.

Overall, Week 5 was a valuable learning experience that enhanced my sense of responsibility as a teacher and reinforced the importance of holistic development of students through both curricular and co-curricular activities.
