Self Reflection on This Week’s Classes (16/07/25 to 18/07/25)
This week, I took five classes for standards 8B and 9D, covering topics from both Physics and Chemistry. While teaching, I felt happy that I met many of my goals, but I also saw areas where I can improve.
In class 8B, I handled three lessons. First, I introduced the idea of a reference object. Many students were new to this, but I used real-life examples which helped them understand better. Then I taught about distance and speed. To make the topic interesting, I used activities and asked students to take part in small measuring activities. This made learning fun and helped them connect theory with real-life situations. However, I had a hard time managing the time because some students needed extra help. As a result, I had to rush the end of the class. Next time, I plan to keep more time for consolidation and group discussion so all students can follow along.
In class 9D, I taught about modern periodic law and how elements are grouped in the periodic table. I compared it to common things like classroom seating to help them understand better. This made it easier for them to connect the topic with something familiar. The students were very curious and performed well in activities. That showed they were interested. But I feel I should use more pictures and digital tools like interactive periodic tables to make the lessons clearer. I used p table. But they can only see that ,not interact with that.
In short, this week helped me understand the value of hands-on learning and the need to support students at different levels. I will try to use more teaching tools and adjust my methods to meet the needs of all students in the future.
This week week participated in a co curricular activity. It is an awareness about Rabbis. Students get proper awareness from community health centre Vellarada. Also we participated in the noon feeding serving.
