Week 5 of my teaching practice was a meaningful and productive learning experience that helped me strengthen my subject knowledge, teaching skills, and understanding of students. During this week, I handled two classes of Standard IX Chemistry and two classes of Standard VIII Physics, which gave me the opportunity to work with learners of different age groups and learning abilities.

WEEKLY REPORT – WEEK 4 (17/1125 - 21/11/25)
During the fourth week of my teaching practice, I handled one Physics class for Standard 8 and three Chemistry classes for Standard 9. The teaching sessions were carried out with proper planning and a focus on student engagement through questioning techniques, board explanation, and reinforcement strategies. Most students participated actively and showed improvement in understanding, while a few required additional support and clarification. Throughout the week, I observed better classroom management, increased confidence in lesson delivery, and improved interaction with students compared to previous weeks. Apart from academic teaching, I also participated in co-curricular activities conducted in the school as part of National Integration Day and World Children’s Day celebrations. As a part of the program, I assisted in organizing and conducting a quiz competition related to the theme, which helped in promoting awareness and student participation. The overall experience this week was meaningful and contributed positively to my professional growth as a teacher by helping me understand classroom dynamics, student diversity, and the importance of balancing curricular
and co-curricular responsibilities.

Self-Reflection – Week 3 of Teaching Practice (10/11/2025 to 14/11/2025)
Self-Reflection – Week 3 of Teaching Practice (10/11/2025 to 14/11/2025)
The third week of my teaching practice was both engaging and insightful, as it offered opportunities to grow academically as well as personally. During this week, I handled four classes—Physics for Standard 8B on the chapter Static Electricity and Chemistry for Standard 9 on Redox Reactions. Each class helped me identify areas of improvement and strengths in my teaching approach.
While teaching Static Electricity, I attempted to use more student-centered activities and everyday relatable examples to make the concepts easier to understand. The students responded with curiosity and actively participated in questioning and discussions. However, I observed that a few students still needed more scaffolding to fully grasp concepts like charge distribution and induction. This helped me realize the importance of differentiated instruction and timely feedback.
In the Redox Reactions lessons in Chemistry, I focused on explaining the processes of oxidation and reduction using simple analogies and stepwise reasoning. I encouraged students to work in pairs to solve practice questions, which improved peer learning and engagement. I felt satisfied noticing improvement in their responses, though I believe incorporating more visual aids could further enhance their understanding.
Beyond classroom teaching, I participated in several school-based activities. On November 14th, Children's Day was celebrated, where students showcased various performances. Being part of the organizing and support team helped me understand the role of teachers in fostering creativity and positive school culture. I also attended a Medical Camp organized by the Health Department, which highlighted the responsibility schools hold regarding student well-being and health awareness. Additionally, I continued assisting with noon feeding serving, which helped me connect with students at a personal and supportive level.
Overall, the week strengthened my teaching confidence and made me more aware of the diverse roles a teacher plays in school life. I learned the importance of efficient planning, rapport building, flexibility in teaching, and involvement in student welfare. Moving forward, I aim to incorporate more teaching aids, improve lesson pacing, and engage in continuous reflection to better meet learners needs.

Self-Reflection – Week 2 of Teaching Practice (03/11/2025 to 07/11/2025)
Self-Reflection – Week 2 of Teaching Practice (03/11/2025 to 07/11/2025)
The second week of my teaching practice was a meaningful continuation of my growth as a teacher trainee. During this week, I handled a total of four classes: Physics for Standard 8B on the chapter Static Electricity and Chemistry for Standard 9 on the chapter Redox Reactions. Each class helped me refine my teaching strategies and classroom management skills.
In the Static Electricity classes, I focused on simplifying abstract concepts through demonstrations and examples from daily life. I noticed that students were highly engaged when I used activities and questioning techniques. However, I felt the need to improve the pacing of my lessons to ensure better coverage of each subtopic. In Chemistry, while teaching Redox Reactions, I made deliberate attempts to link oxidation and reduction with real-world chemical processes. Students responded positively, though some required extra clarification on electron transfer. This made me realize the importance of repeated reinforcement, especially for concept-heavy topics.
Apart from classroom teaching, I actively participated in school co-curricular activities. I attended the Eureka prize distribution, which gave me insights into how schools encourage academic excellence. I also took part in noon feeding serving, which helped me experience the school's commitment to student welfare. Additionally, participating in the Sub District Kalolsavam allowed me to observe the students’ talents and the immense effort put in by teachers to nurture them. These experiences broadened my understanding of the teacher’s role beyond the classroom.
Overall, Week 2 strengthened my confidence and enhanced my sense of responsibility as a teacher trainee. I realized the importance of balancing lesson preparation, student engagement, and participation in school activities. Moving forward, I aim to improve my time management in classes, incorporate more learner-centered methods, and provide additional support to students who need reinforcement. This week was truly enriching and continues to shape me into a more reflective and effective teachers.

Weekly reflection:week 1
Self-Reflection-Week 1 (B.Ed Teaching Practice)
The first week of my teaching practice was a meaningful learning experience that helped me strengthen my classroom teaching skills and understand school culture. Ihandled a total of five classes teaching Chemistry for Standard 9 and Physics or Standard 8. The chemnistry chapter covered was Redox Reactions, while in physics taught Static Electricity.
Inthe Chemistry classes, began by assessing students prior knowledge about oxidation and reduction. I used simple examples from dally life to explain the concepts, which he|ped students relate better. However,Irealised that some students struggled to differentiate oxidation and reduction processes. o adress this, incorporated more diagramns and step-by-step chemical equations, which gradually improved comprehension. I also used question-answer essions to check conceptual clarity.
In Physics, while teaching Static Electricity, I USed demonstrations SuCt as rubbing a baloon on hair to show charge development. Students were enthusiastic and engaged we/l because of the practical examples. However, managing time within the lesson plan was challenging, as discussions took longer than expected. learned that |need to pace the activities better and allocate more time for studentinteraction.
Beyond classroom teaching, I participated in school co-curricular activities. I observed Kaliyattam, a traditional art form performed on the theme of environmental protection, which helped me understand how cultural expressions can be effectively integrated into awareness programmes.lalso attended a group run organized by SPC cadets to spread awareness against drug abuse. These experiences helped me recognize the role of schools in shaping values, promoting community involvement, and ensuring holistic development.
Overall this week helped me improve my tommunication, develop classroom management techniques, and explore different teaching strategies. I look forward to refining my lesson delivery, incorporating varied teaching aids, and making my classes more learner-centere in the coming weeks
