Weekly Reflection – Teaching Practice (Week 9)

 This final week of teaching practice was a meaningful and fulfilling conclusion to my school internship experience. During this week, I handled two classes — one in Class 8B and one in Class 9D. Though the number of classes was limited, the learning gained was deep and valuable.

I observed that students were more comfortable with my teaching style compared to the initial weeks. Classroom interaction improved, and students showed better participation, confidence, and interest in learning. This reflected the positive rapport I had built with them over the weeks.

I was able to manage time more effectively, explain concepts clearly, and engage students through questioning and examples. The experience helped me understand the importance of patience, preparation, and adaptability in teaching.

As this was the final week of teaching practice, it gave me an opportunity to reflect on my growth as a teacher. I developed better classroom control, communication skills, and confidence in handling students of different learning levels.

Overall, this teaching practice period was highly enriching and helped me transform theoretical knowledge into real classroom experience. It strengthened my passion for the teaching profession and prepared me to become a more responsible and effective teacher in the future.

Weekly Teaching Practice Report – Week 8 ( 19/01/2026 to 23/01/2026)

 

During the eighth week of teaching practice, I handled two classes at the secondary level. I taught Unsaturated Hydrocarbons for Class 9D, where the focus was on understanding the types, properties, and basic reactions of unsaturated hydrocarbons. For Class 8B, I taught Characteristics of Magnetic Field Lines, explaining their nature, direction, and significance using suitable illustrations and classroom discussion.

In addition to classroom teaching, I actively participated in co-curricular activities. I assisted in the noon meal serving programme, contributing to the smooth conduct of the school’s welfare activity. I also took part in the Annual Day preparations, helping with organizational and supportive tasks.Also participated in the appreciation ceremony of winner in state level youth festival 

Overall, the week was productive and helped me gain better teaching experience as well as involvement in school activities beyond academics.

Self-Reflection – Teaching Practice (Week 7)

During the seventh week of my teaching practice, I handled three classes across two standards, which helped me further develop my pedagogical skills and classroom management abilities. I took two classes in Standard VIII Physics and one class in Standard IX Chemistry.

In Standard VIII Physics, I taught the topics Magnetic Levitation and Magnetic Compass. While teaching magnetic levitation, I used real-life examples and demonstrations to help students visualize the concept of magnetic repulsion and its applications. Students showed keen interest and actively participated by asking questions and sharing observations. The lesson on the magnetic compass helped students understand the Earth’s magnetic field and the practical use of a compass in navigation. Simple activities and questioning techniques enhanced their conceptual clarity and engagement.

In Standard IX Chemistry, I handled the topic Unsaturated Hydrocarbons. The lesson focused on alkenes and alkynes, their general formulae, properties, and differences from saturated hydrocarbons. I used charts and structural representations to make the topic more understandable. Students responded positively and were able to identify unsaturated hydrocarbons and their characteristics through guided discussion.

Apart from classroom teaching, I actively participated in various co-curricular activities. I assisted in the Noon Feeding Programme, which helped me understand the importance of nutrition and welfare schemes in promoting student health and attendance. I also took part in the Chief Minister’s Quiz, supporting the smooth conduct of the programme and encouraging student participation. Additionally, I contributed to the Annual Day preparations, which enhanced my teamwork, organizational skills, and sense of responsibility.

Overall, Week 7 was a meaningful and enriching experience. It strengthened my confidence in handling different subjects, improved my communication skills, and helped me understand the holistic role of a teacher beyond classroom instruction. I realized the importance of integrating academic teaching with co-curricular activities to ensure the all-round development of students.

Self-Reflection on Teaching Practice – Week 6(07/01/2026 to 08/01/2026)

 Week 5 of my teaching practice, though short in duration, was a meaningful and insightful experience that contributed to my professional growth. During this period, I handled two classes of Standard VIII Physics, which helped me further develop my confidence in subject delivery and classroom interaction.

In the Physics classes, I focused on presenting concepts in a clear and simple manner, using appropriate examples to help students relate the content to real-life situations. I encouraged student participation through questioning and brief discussions, which helped in assessing their understanding and maintaining an active classroom environment. This experience strengthened my communication skills and improved my ability to manage time effectively within a limited period.

In addition to academic teaching, I actively observed and supported the co-curricular activity of medicine distribution against worm infestation. This activity made me realize the important role schools play in promoting students’ health and well-being. It also helped me understand how health awareness programs complement classroom learning by ensuring students’ physical fitness, which is essential for effective learning.

This week helped me reflect on the importance of balancing academic responsibilities with students’ health and welfare. I also recognized the need to further improve my use of teaching aids and to incorporate more interactive strategies in future classes.

Overall, Week 5 was a valuable learning experience that enhanced my sense of responsibility as a teacher and reinforced the importance of holistic development of students through both curricular and co-curricular activities.

Self-Reflection on Teaching Practice –Week 5( 24/11/2025 to 28/11/2025)

 Week 5 of my teaching practice was a meaningful and productive learning experience that helped me strengthen my subject knowledge, teaching skills, and understanding of students. During this week, I handled two classes of Standard IX Chemistry and two classes of Standard VIII Physics, which gave me the opportunity to work with learners of different age groups and learning abilities.

In the Standard IX Chemistry classes, I focused on clear explanation of concepts and encouraged students to actively participate through questioning and discussion. I made conscious efforts to relate the concepts to daily life situations, which helped students understand the subject better and increased their interest in chemistry. In the Standard VIII Physics classes, I adopted a simple and interactive approach by using examples, demonstrations, and questioning techniques to make the concepts more meaningful and learner-friendly. Handling both subjects helped me improve my adaptability and confidence in teaching.

Apart from classroom teaching, I actively participated in co-curricular activities, which added great value to my teaching practice. I was involved in the INIX Academy Coloring Competition, where I observed students’ creativity, imagination, and enthusiasm. This activity helped me understand the importance of nurturing students’ artistic skills along with academic learning. I also witnessed the Kitty Puppetry Show on Drug Abuse, which effectively conveyed social awareness messages in an engaging manner. The puppetry show created a strong impact on students and highlighted the role of creative methods in value-based education.

Through this week, I improved my classroom management, communication skills, and time management. I also became more aware of the need to address individual differences among learners. However, I realized that I need to further improve my use of teaching aids and ICT tools to make lessons more effective.

Overall, Week 5 was a rewarding experience that enhanced my confidence and reinforced the importance of integrating academic learning with co-curricular activities. This week helped me grow as a reflective and responsible teacher, committed to holistic development of students.

WEEKLY REPORT – WEEK 4 (17/1125 - 21/11/25)

 During the fourth week of my teaching practice, I handled one Physics class for Standard 8 and three Chemistry classes for Standard 9. The teaching sessions were carried out with proper planning and a focus on student engagement through questioning techniques, board explanation, and reinforcement strategies. Most students participated actively and showed improvement in understanding, while a few required additional support and clarification. Throughout the week, I observed better classroom management, increased confidence in lesson delivery, and improved interaction with students compared to previous weeks. Apart from academic teaching, I also participated in co-curricular activities conducted in the school as part of National Integration Day and World Children’s Day celebrations. As a part of the program, I assisted in organizing and conducting a quiz competition related to the theme, which helped in promoting awareness and student participation. The overall experience this week was meaningful and contributed positively to my professional growth as a teacher by helping me understand classroom dynamics, student diversity, and the importance of balancing curricular












and co-curricular responsibilities.

The third week of my teaching practice was both engaging and insightful, as it offered opportunities to grow academically as well as personally. During this week, I handled four classes—Physics for Standard 8B on the chapter Static Electricity and Chemistry for Standard 9 on Redox Reactions. Each class helped me identify areas of improvement and strengths in my teaching approach.

While teaching Static Electricity, I attempted to use more student-centered activities and everyday relatable examples to make the concepts easier to understand. The students responded with curiosity and actively participated in questioning and discussions. However, I observed that a few students still needed more scaffolding to fully grasp concepts like charge distribution and induction. This helped me realize the importance of differentiated instruction and timely feedback.

In the Redox Reactions lessons in Chemistry, I focused on explaining the processes of oxidation and reduction using simple analogies and stepwise reasoning. I encouraged students to work in pairs to solve practice questions, which improved peer learning and engagement. I felt satisfied noticing improvement in their responses, though I believe incorporating more visual aids could further enhance their understanding.

Beyond classroom teaching, I participated in several school-based activities. On November 14th, Children's Day was celebrated, where students showcased various performances. Being part of the organizing and support team helped me understand the role of teachers in fostering creativity and positive school culture. I also attended a Medical Camp organized by the Health Department, which highlighted the responsibility schools hold regarding student well-being and health awareness. Additionally, I continued assisting with noon feeding serving, which helped me connect with students at a personal and supportive level.

Overall, the week strengthened my teaching confidence and made me more aware of the diverse roles a teacher plays in school life. I learned the importance of efficient planning, rapport building, flexibility in teaching, and involvement in student welfare. Moving forward, I aim to incorporate more teaching aids, improve lesson pacing, and engage in continuous reflection to better meet learners needs.

The second week of my teaching practice was a meaningful continuation of my growth as a teacher trainee. During this week, I handled a total of four classes: Physics for Standard 8B on the chapter Static Electricity and Chemistry for Standard 9 on the chapter Redox Reactions. Each class helped me refine my teaching strategies and classroom management skills.

In the Static Electricity classes, I focused on simplifying abstract concepts through demonstrations and examples from daily life. I noticed that students were highly engaged when I used activities and questioning techniques. However, I felt the need to improve the pacing of my lessons to ensure better coverage of each subtopic. In Chemistry, while teaching Redox Reactions, I made deliberate attempts to link oxidation and reduction with real-world chemical processes. Students responded positively, though some required extra clarification on electron transfer. This made me realize the importance of repeated reinforcement, especially for concept-heavy topics.

Apart from classroom teaching, I actively participated in school co-curricular activities. I attended the Eureka prize distribution, which gave me insights into how schools encourage academic excellence. I also took part in noon feeding serving, which helped me experience the school's commitment to student welfare. Additionally, participating in the Sub District Kalolsavam allowed me to observe the students’ talents and the immense effort put in by teachers to nurture them. These experiences broadened my understanding of the teacher’s role beyond the classroom.

Overall, Week 2 strengthened my confidence and enhanced my sense of responsibility as a teacher trainee. I realized the importance of balancing lesson preparation, student engagement, and participation in school activities. Moving forward, I aim to improve my time management in classes, incorporate more learner-centered methods, and provide additional support to students who need reinforcement. This week was truly enriching and continues to shape me into a more reflective and effective teachers.
